The non-4D complement to the same-named shoe, the X9000L4 expands adidas modern runners with further BOOST innovation, tailoring the cushioning to better improve responsiveness and energy return.
While the tooling itself lies at the core of the silhouette’s overall performance, the upper’s frame steals a large part of the spotlight. Its bold highlights of purple, red, and blue — though used in seldom — create a futuristic aesthetic that accents the side profile, lace, unit and the like in a taping that changes little about the upper’s bulk. Streamlined from the toe box to the heel, the pair starts sleek with its knit shell and then slowly becomes more chiseled as it lays atop a somewhat large, polished TPU counter and a sharp collar. The bottom follows a similar sort of shape as it protrudes further outwards at its heel, but thanks to its near full black coloring, it lies relatively low visually even with its neon green tread detailing and glossy blue finish.
