Nike Shox may not have its own made-up day (let alone month) like its Air Max counterpart, but the piston-cushioning was equally forward-thinking when it debuted in 2000. And while decades removed from its Vince Carter-endorsed heyday, the technology continues to boast a cult-like following in places like Brazil. When assessing models like the Shox TL, it’s evident why savvy consumers are drawn to the performance-turned-lifestyle proposition.
Away from collaborations with Skepta and COMME des GARÇONS, the Shox TL innately demands attention. Uppers, which are clad in “Platinum” on the pair seen here, feature a full-length TPU cage reminiscent of the Air Max Plus. The flexible columns and their accompanying moderator plates arguably make a bolder statement, regardless of their “White” arrangement. Like recent pairs of the Shox TL Nova, a women-exclusive Shox silhouette, contrast to this Shox TL arrives across branding and molded overlays.
Details of a Nike.com launch for this retro model are still unknown, but pairs are now available at select affiliate retailers for $170 USD.
Elsewhere under the retro NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Jordan 6 DMP returns to shelves soon for the first time since 2006.
