The Nike Moon Racer — a shoe inspired by 1972’s Moon Shoe with a modern-day Vapor Street Flyknit midsole — is a fascinating combination of old and new Nike design and tech. After first releasing early this August, the new-age hybrid is now set to return in a trifecta of brand-new makeups: white/navy, black/royal blue, and orange/yellow. The first pair presents a clean look, with a stark white mesh providing a base for navy, tan and hot red accents. The black/blue pair opts for a more toned-down look, dressed mainly in a pitch-dark black, with accents arriving via a large blue hit on the midsole and white contrast stitching on the black Swoosh. The final pair gives off heavy retro vibes, with an orange upper that boasts old-school cream-colored hits on the large midfoot Swoosh and the laces, while a two-tone yellow and cream midsole completes the heritage look. All three of these real life moon shoes also feature a special printed insole — and are set to release November 1st overseas, with a full global release date likely to follow later this fall.
