Since its introduction to market in 2013, adidas Boost technology has revolutionized the sneaker industry. Its lightweight construction, cloud-like feel and distinct pebbled look have become known the world over thanks to models like the adidas NMD and the Ultra Boost. Boost’s performance capabilities are well-known, but until recently not much has been done on the style front with the beloved cushioning, as it always appears in a simple black or white. That’s all set to change soon though, as the Three Stripes recently unveiled their “Printed Series” in conjunction with Foot Locker, bringing embellishments to Boost’s surface for the first time ever. The first “Printed Series” release is a black and grey camo adidas NMD R1, complete with a bold red heel tab and a black midsole that features “NYC” printed on the back in white block letters. The special shoe is a New York-only edition that’s set to release at Foot Locker NYC stores August 11th, but you can likely expect other Boost kicks with printed detailing to roll out over the fall and winter. Get a first look at the new NMDs below, and let us know what else you’d like to see the Three Stripes do with this new technology.
